GOLF COURSE :

Shillong Gold Course, the third oldest Golf Course in India, established in 1889 as a Nine Hole Course and in 1924 it was converted into Eighteen Hole Course  by Captain Jackson and C. R. Rhodes.  It is termed as the “ Glen Eagle of the East” by the United States Golf Association Library and Museum. This museum which happens to be the largest of its kind in the world, exhibits only the Shillong Golf Course from India.

Lies at an altitude of 5200 ft in an undulating valley, Shillong Gold Course is popularly known as the “ Golfer’s Paradise”. Set amidst thick groves of Pine and Rhododendron is an ideal place for an avid golfer. It is one of the largest Golf courses in Asia and due to the proximity of Cherrapunjee, which receives the maximum rainfall in the world, Shillong Gold Course is the wettest among world’s Golf Courses. It still retain the colonial touch and playing golf here is really challenging.
