The Royal Palace :
 
The major attraction of Coochbehar town is the Royal Palace or Rajbari. The palace is also called the Victor Jubilee Palace . It was built by Maharaja Nripendra Narayan in 1887. The palace was influenced by classical European style during Italian Renaissance and resembles to Buckingham Palace of London. Maharaja Nripendra Narayan is also known as the main architect of the modern Coochbehar town.
 
The Royal Palace covers an area of 4768 sq. mts., extending the 120 mt from north to south and 90 mt from east to west. The palace contains more than 50 rooms and halls of varied dimensions for different uses. The main attraction of the palace is Durbar hall, which recalls the memory of St. Peter’s Church in Rome.
 
Sagar Dighi :
 
There are number of dighis or ponds in Coochbehar town. Among them Sagar Dighi is the largest and the important water body of the town. Located at the heart of the city Sagar Dighi is surrounded by many important heritage administrative buildings. Sagar Dighi – the name means “ Ocean like Pond” was dug during the reign of Maharajas of Coochbehar as a source of water. Every year during winter a large number of migratory birds assemble here. Among them Cotton steal, Lesser Whistling Teal, Ruddy Shell Duck are worth watching.
 
Madan Mohan Temple :

Coochbehar is a city of temples. Among them the most important and beautiful is Modan Mohan temple. Built by Maharaja Nripendra Narayan during the period of 1885-1889 AD, the temple is devoted to Lord Krishna and Balaram. The dome shaped temple is situated on the bank of a beautiful pond – Bairagi Dighi. Every year Raas Jatra, Ratha Jatra, Dol Jatra and Janmastami are celebrated here. During Raas jatra – the biggest festival of the town a mela is organized here.
