Flora and Fauna in Chapramari wildlife Sanctuary - Dooars:

 
With fascinating diversity of flora and fauna and vast texture of massive trees sheltering various of Orchids are really impressive in Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary. The forest  is famous for its abundance of elephants and Indian bisons. Apart from them Cheetal, Samber, Barking Deer, Pangolin are also have home here. Reptiles and other macro faunas are also available in Chapramari forest.
 
Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary  is also a birds watchers’ paradise. There are more than hundred of species of birds are available here. Among them Green Magpie, Indian Treepie, thrush, Scarlet Minivet, Hill Mayna, White Breasted Kingfisher, Hornbill, Large Grey headed Fishing eagles, Adjucent Stork, Peafowl, Green Pigeon, Roller, Flinch, Bee-eater, Black Patridges are mostly seen here. Migratory birds like Brahmony, Teals are seen during the winter season.
 
Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary  is mostly covered with dry forest. Some rare plants are found here which are difficult to find in elsewhere.  Most of the area of Chapramari forest is covered by the trees like Sal, Teak, Shishu, Siris etc. Varity of Orchids like  Acampo, , Bulbophyllum, Chiloschista, Cymbidium, Dendrobium, Eria, Gastrochilus, Luisia and Oberonia are available here.

There is a watch tower in Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary  which is an ideal place to get views for wild animals. There is a salt reservoir just near the tower and wild animals like elephants, Indian bison are very frequent to visit there.
