The Botanical Garden of Shillong is located in the vicinity of the enchanting Ward Lake and one of the favourite haunt among tourists and local people. The landscaped garden specializes in preservation and research of various species of vegetation specially those related to the Meghalaya region. Located in a remoter area the Botanical garden is also a treasure trove of varied indigenous  and exotic flora. The orchid House of the garden has amazing rare collection Orchids. Botanical Garden also has a mini Aviary with a collection of rare and colourful species of birds.
