Viper Island :


This island got its name after the ship wreck event of a British trading ship named “ Viper”. The British rulers built a Jail here in 1867 and discarded it after Cellular Jail completed. Viper Island is now a popular tourist spot with multiple attractions and  historical importance. Numerous spectacular picnic spots with natural picturesque environments increases the attraction of this island.  Tourists visiting Viper Island have a glimpse of the British colonial era.


Viper Island can be approached by harbour cruise originating from Phoenix Bay Jetty in Port Blair and the sailing provides a panoramic view of different points around the island.
