Tour Itinerary For Gangtok - North Sikkim - Darjeeling Tour Package

Day - 01: Bagdogra (IXB)/ New Jalpaiguri (NJP) to Gangtok

Welcome on arrival at IXB/NJP meet our representative and transfer to Gangtok (117kms/4hrs), at an altitude of 5500ft Gangtok is the Capital of Sikkim. Overnight at hotel.

Day - 02: Excursion Trip to Tsomgo Lake ( Changu Lake ) & Baba Mandir

After breakfast half-day trip to Tsomgo lake (12400ft), which is only 32 kms from Gangtok City, the oval shaped lake is almost about 1Km long, and 15 mtrs deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people,After that visit 18 kms from the lake Baba Mandir, (temple of disappeared army personal) and back to Gangtok. Evening free at Gangtok for shopping and individual activity. Overnight at hotel. (Optional tour is, Nathula the Indo-Chaina border is 20 kms. from Tsomgo lake (subject to availability of special permit for Indian tourist only)

Day 03: Gangtok to Lachen ( North Sikkim)

After breakfast pickup from your hotel at Gangtok and Transfer to Lachen ( 123 Kms ) and located at an altitude of 8600 ft. En-route visit at Tashi View point, Naga Water Falls, Sighik View point, Chungthang Valley. Evening free to explore the beautiful Himalayan village by your own. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04: Visit Gurudongmar Lake and Transfer to Lachung

After breakfast leave for Gurudongmar Lake ( 17,200f t), Thangu ( 13,000 ft.) and Chopta Valley ( 13,200 ft.). Thangu Valley is a broad valley at the junction of Thangu Chu, Chopta Chu and Lassur Chu. In the spring end to summer months Rhododendrons, Primula and many other Alpine flowers are in full bloom. In the winter months you can play in the snow or even walk over frozen rivers. The unspoilt beauty of the area will take breath away. Come back to Lachen for Lunch. After lunch proceed to Lachung. Enroute see the beautiful Twin Waterfalls and Bhim Nala Waterfalls. Arrive Lachung at Late afternoon in the evening & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Lachung.

Day 05 : Visit Yumthang Valley and Transfer to Gangtok

Early morning after breakfast start for half-day excursion trip to Yumtahng Valley, en-rote visit Hot Spring and Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary.Some photographs of the natural scenes of Switzerland and Yumthang valley are very hard to distinguish. Yumthang, which is at an altitude of 12,000 ft., is situated about 135 km from Gangtok. April and may promises colorful flowers & Orchids, where as November end to March usually sees snows, Transfer back to Gangtok. On the way visit Bhim Nala Water Falls, Twin Tower Water Falls. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day - 06: Gangtok to Darjeeling

Morning after breakfast transfer to Darjeeling (110kms/4hrs).Once the summer capital of India, Darjeeling is a land of infinite variety and charm. It will cater you a mix-experience of lively nature charming Himalayan people. Surrounded by Tea gardens; this little town faces some of the highest peaks of the Himalayas. Take a rest and then a walk around town to appreciate the new culture you are in. Overnight at Hotel.

Day - 07 : Darjeeling Best points Sightseeing

Early morning start for Tiger Hill to watch the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on the Mt. Kanchendzonga (Worlds 3rd highest peak), Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batashia Loop War Memorial while returning to the Hotel. After breakfast followed by Half day best point local sightseeing covering Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja N. Zoological Garden, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center and Rock side. After that visit to the Mall (Chowrasta) along with local Market for City Life. Overnight at hotel.

Day - 08 : Darjeeling to Bagdogra (IXB)/ New Jalpaiguri (NJP)

After breakfast departure Transfer to IXB/NJP (80kms/3hrs). Tour End.

Early Morning Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop & Ghoom Monastery tour starts around 4.00 Am to 4.30 AM Rest of the Darjeeling local sightseeing start around 9 AM In hills, vehicle movements are strictly restricted and parking in front of hotels are time bound. So it is requested to follow the time given for local sightseeing and transfers properly There are 06 numbers of Joy Ride services in Darjeeling. Joy Ride tour covers Darjeeling – Ghoom – Darjeeling ( 14 Kms) route and takes almost two hours to complete . Joy ride starts at 8 AM in the morning. Three number rides are by Diesel Engine and rest of the three rides are by Steam Engine. Darjeeling Ropeway timings are 10 AM to 2 PM in season and 10 AM to 4 PM in off season. Ropeway Ticket cost Rs. 150.00 Per Adult and Rs. 75.00 Per Child ( 3 to 8 Years) If Vehicle is to be kept waiting for Ropeway ridings in Darjeeling & Gangtok, then halting charge will be extra HMI and ZOO are closed on Thursday. Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre is closed on Sunday Gangtok local sightseeing starts 8.30 in the morning For Tsongo Lake & Baba Mandir tour vehicle reports before or on 7.30 AM at hotel.
