Lloyd Botanical Garden

Darjeeling Lloyd Botanical Garden was established in the year of 1878 by Willam Lloyd, a renowned figure and old resident of  Darjeeling during that period. He requested to the Government and acquired a 40 acres of land in the Darjeeling town to form a Botanic Garden as a distance annex of Calcutta Botanical Garden. Darjeeling Botanical Garden has a garden code ascribed by the Indian Botanical Garden Network.

Darjeeling botanical  garden started forming under the careful guidance of  Dr. T. Anderson and over the years this garden has been enriched by the large collection of rare Himalayan Plants, Flowers, Orchids and many more Flora species which belong to native  Darjeling Himalayan regions, neighbouring Sikkim and exotica from other areas.
 
The fascinating collection of Orchids which have developed number of rare varieties and the Orchidarium housing around 3000 plants. The Cactti and Sacculents section stored a separate conservatory to display.
 

The garden located just below the Bus stand and just 15 mts. walking distance from Darjeeling Mall or Darjeeling Chowrasta.
