Singhik
Singhik , perched in the lap of Himalayas is a small picturesque hamlet, located on Gangtok – North Sikkim state Highway and at a and an altitude of around 6,500 ft. offers one of the spectacular and nearest view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and its surrounding snow clad peaks. It is 70 km from Gangtok – the state capital and only 4 km from Mangan – the North district headquarters. From Singhik view point Mt. Kanchenjunga looks stunning and watching Mt. Siniolchu, which is considered the most graceful peak in the world, obviously is a bonus.
Singhik also offer number of short treks of one to three days along with higher ridges of surrounding hills. Singhik Monastery or Labrang Monastery which was built in 1844 and is located on the up hills can be visited by a half an hour pleasure walk through lush green forests and numerous fountains. A well located Tourist Lodge provides a basic accommodation for the visitors.
