North Sikkim - Switzerland of India
North Sikkim is now one of the most traveled destinations of India. During winter one can experience heavy to very heavy snowfall here. But the beauty of Yumthang Valley remains incomplete without warm hospitality of Lachung village people. The other adventurous and exciting part is Gurudongmar Lake. Situated at more than 17,800 ft. The green colour lake is sacred for both Sikh and Sikkimese people. The lake is surrounded by snowcapped mountains throughout the year within snowfall zone .On the way to this secret lake the beauty of Thangu village and Chopta valley is unforgettable memory to any visitor. One thing always should keep in mind that the visit to North Sikkim is subject to availability of Protected Area Permit both for Indian and Foreign National Tourist.
